Can I sync someone else's Google Calendar to their Notion account without sharing passwords?
Yes, you can! There are two ways to do this:
I. Using shared calendars
Share the calendar: The owner of the Google Calendar needs to share their calendar with your Google account and grant you "Make changes and manage sharing" permissions. They can find instructions on how to do this here:
- Connect to 2sync: Once the calendar is shared, go to the 2sync website and start the sync process.
- Connect accounts: Follow the steps to connect the shared Google Calendar and the owner's Notion workspace. You'll need to be logged into your Google account (the one with access to their calendar) and have the necessary permissions in their Notion workspace.
Remember, you'll need to be logged into the Google account that has been granted access to their calendar and have the necessary permissions in their Notion workspace to set up the sync.
II. Using a special link
- Add a new Google Calendar connection: When setting up the automation in 2sync, choose to add a new Google Calendar connection.
- Copy/paste credentials: Instead of logging in directly, select the "Copy/paste credentials instead" option.
- Follow the instructions: 2sync will provide instructions on how to generate and share a special link with the calendar owner. This allows them to grant access to their calendar without sharing their password.
