How to sync Gmail to Notion
Setting up Gmail sync takes under five minutes:
- Connect your Google account to 2sync and authorize Gmail access.
- Select your Notion database or let 2sync create one with the right properties.
- Set your filters to choose which emails sync by label, sender, or subject.
- Enable the sync and matching emails start flowing to Notion automatically.

Notion email integration
Notion does not have a built-in email integration. The only native option is pasting a link, which creates a bookmark with no searchable content. 2sync fills this gap by syncing Gmail emails into a Notion database as full pages with the complete email body, metadata, and thread relations.
If you also use Outlook, 2sync offers the same one-way email sync for Outlook Mail. Both integrations work alongside Google Contacts or Outlook Contacts to link emails to contact pages automatically.
Why sync Gmail to Notion?
Gmail is for communication. Notion is for organization. The problem is that important information arrives in your inbox and stays trapped there, buried under new messages within hours.
2sync moves emails from Gmail to Notion automatically. New messages matching your filters create database pages within minutes. The full email body syncs as page content, not just the subject line. From Notion you can search, filter, link to projects, and add your own properties like status, priority, or follow-up dates.
Gmail sync is one-way by design. Notion becomes a read-only archive, and nothing you do there affects your inbox.
All plans include a 14-day free trial, so you can test the full sync before paying.
What syncs between Gmail and Notion?
2sync supports 11 Gmail fields, plus the full email body as page content:
- Subject: Email subject line as the Notion page title
- Sender and recipients: From, To, CC, and BCC addresses
- Labels: Gmail labels sync as Notion multi-select tags
- Attachment info: File names and links (files stay in Gmail)
- Email preview: A short snippet visible without opening the page
- Date received: When the email was sent
- Email link: Direct URL to the original message in Gmail
- Thread relations: Group emails from the same conversation
All fields are read-only in Notion. This protects your inbox from unintended changes.
Thread relations and contact links
Most email-to-Notion tools create isolated pages. 2sync connects them.
Map the Thread relation field to group emails from the same conversation. Open any email page and see every related message in the thread. Use Notion rollups to count messages per conversation or filter views by thread.
If you run a Google Contacts sync alongside Gmail, map the From field to a Relation property. Each email links to the sender's contact page automatically. Open a contact and see every email from that person in one place.
2sync vs Zapier for Gmail
Zapier can create a Notion page when a new email arrives, but it passes field values only. The email body does not sync as page content, threads are not linked, and there is no built-in duplicate prevention. Syncing updates or changes to existing emails requires complex multi-step Zaps.
2sync syncs the full email body, groups threads through relations, and handles duplicates automatically. Zapier also charges per email: the free plan allows 100 tasks per month with 15-minute delays. A busy inbox can exhaust that in days. 2sync charges per automation with unlimited synced items.
