Error message: "The Notion database seems to have been deleted"

If you see this message: "The Notion database seems to have been deleted. Please restore it and try again.", it means 2sync cannot reach the Notion database linked to this automation.

What this means

2sync lost access to the database because one of these happened:

  • The database was deleted or moved to Trash.
  • The database was moved to a different workspace or teamspace.
  • Your access or the 2sync connection on that database was removed.

How to fix it

  1. Restore the database in Notion. Open the left sidebar, go to Trash, find the database, and click Restore.
  2. Re-add the 2sync connection to the database. Open the database in Notion, click the three-dot button (⋯) at the top right, choose Add connections, select 2sync.
  3. Reconnect in 2sync. Open your automation, go to Notion Connection, and click Reconnect.

If the database was moved to another workspace or teamspace, ask a workspace owner to share it with you and add the 2sync connection again. Then reconnect in 2sync.

If the database cannot be restored

Create a new database and create a new automation that points to it. Existing automations cannot switch their main Notion database.

ℹ️ Note on data loss: You need to check if you selected the option Allow event deletion in your sync settings, which will trigger the deletion of events or tasks. As long as that option is unchecked, we won't be able to delete any item on our end.
