Why is old data still appearing in my synced fields after I removed the mapping?
When you remove a field mapping in your 2sync automation, 2sync will stop syncing data between those fields. However, it will not delete any existing data.
Example:
Imagine you've mapped a "Notes" field in Notion to the "Description" field in Google Calendar. If you remove this mapping:
2sync will no longer update the "Description" field in Google Calendar with new information from the "Notes" field in Notion. Any existing text in the "Description" field of your Google Calendar events will remain unchanged.
This design prevents accidental data loss when you modify your automation settings.
How can I remove the old data?
You have two options:
- Manual deletion: Edit each event in Google Calendar and remove the unwanted text from the "Description" field.
- Remapping: Create a new mapping, temporarily connecting the "Description" field to a blank Notion field or a field with the desired updated information. This will overwrite the old data.
